Control IssuesHelena walked down the hallway, she had a monologue prepared to give Salem. She wanted to reassure him, and to do whatever she could to calm him down. As she turned towards his room she saw the wooden door ajar, light spilling out onto the carpet. She neared with caution and peered into the exposed room.  “…Salem?” It was almost a whisper. The FuneralI couldn’t believe it. It was surreal, but I assume the same could be said of most funerals. This, however, was the one funeral I never expected to attend, and I certainly could never have been prepared for it. I just sat there, next to my mother, who was barely holding her composure. I originally joined deviantART in April of 2005. This account is my second. I'm a writer and I'm terrible at updating my deviations because I tend to believe that most everything I write is not good enough.

I spend most of my time in the politics forum, where I pretend that my opinion on such matters is actually noteworthy. I also spend a good deal of time sitting in the #PoliticsForumChat in case someone drops in. Sometimes we discuss political issues, but we're also prone to having much more casual conversation as well, so it's not as boring and stuffy as it might sound. =P

If you feel like contacting me for some bizarre reason, go for it. I won't bite... unless provoked.

It's very hectic, which is the primary reason I've been absent from the forum chat. With the start of summer, though, I'm thinking I should have more time to spend around here.

I can only be in the chat room for so many hours out of the day. =(

I'm hoping that more people join in and help me revive the chat from the dead cell that it's become. *AzureSquire occasionally shows up, as do a few others. Check back occasionally, every once in a while you'll get lucky. Plus, I'm usually in there if I'm on dA. I've sort of become the resident guard. :shrug:

Eh, it's the name. No one wants to discuss politics for too long. Or maybe some of them get offended by being labeled a "checkerpiece." :<

To be honest, the times that people have shown up, we only ever briefly discuss anything political (usually related to the forum, and who the latest troll is). Quite often it ends up being pretty damn amusing if you get the right people in the room. It's not as boring as it sounds.

Also, you're not doomed to being a checkerpiece. =P
I know people like *AzureSquire and ~senzadio can change your title, but I'm not sure if I can. I could try, though.

Give it a chance, though. It's not all bad. I promise.

I usually pop in it at least a few times a day. If I'm going to be on dA for any significant amount of time I usually just idle there and check back every few minutes in case someone shows up.

Since I've started doing this, I've only actually run into other people there twice. If you want to help me bring it back, that'd be awesome. Plus, I could really use someone to talk to while I'm just sitting there.
